I really shouldn't be blogging right now as I am SWAMPED at work. I can't get my inbox down to less than 10 e-mails as hard as I try...I like being busy because it makes the time go faster but when I can't everything done in that time, then I get stressed! And I hate not having 5 minutes to balance my checkbook or check my daily boards just for a minute... Anyway, I have been so busy, there has been no time to blog, but I do have an ongoing list in my head at all times... Let's see if I can remember some stuff....
1. I have alluded in previous entries to the books I am reading right now. To say that I am obsessed is putting it mildly. As I am at work, I'm thinking about the book. I take it to the gym at lunch and read on the treadmill (that's one way to get my ass to the gym!) I read at stoplights. I put Stella to bed at 9pm and instantly pick up the book for my 2-3 hours reading session. This is unheard of for me!!
On the cover of the first book, it says "soon to be a major motion picture" so for the first time, I looked up these books on the internet. Holy Harry Potter! Where have I been? It's like a CULT! I was shocked to see all of the fan sites, blogs, etc.... I did dig a little too far and read a sentence about something that is going to happen in book 4 and I could have smacked myself! But I'm trying to block it out as I read.... So I stumbled up on the author's site and read her blogs and saw pictures of the cast of the movie - they look almost exactly as I had pictured them in my head. Good sign #1. It comes out on November 21 and I might take off work. I'm not even kidding. I thought I was excited about Sex and the City: the Movie. That doesn't hold a candle to this! I'm ready for my giant popcorn with goobers poured in... and Edward's lovely pale face on the big screen.... Ahhhh.....
2. XM Radio. I have it in the car. How come every SINGLE time I turn it on Top 20, it's something about a Lollipop. I'm so sick of those songs! So I usually just keep it on the Boneyard channel. Last night on my way home, I heard "Bang Bang" by Danger Danger. I used to love that song. Hearing it just brought back how genius some hairband lyrics are.. .such as:
"Bang Bang! What's that sound? I gave you my love and you shot me down."
I mean, seriously?
This morning, I heard "Same ol' Situation" by Motley Crue and cranked it up and sang at the top of my lungs... And then "Don't Stop Believin" by Journey came on and I shocked myself at knowing every.single.word.
Then I pulled into the parking lot and immediately yelled "F***!!" because I saw my bosses office light on when I thought he wasn't going to be here today and I was late........
3. So it's no secret that I take anxiety meds and have for over 10 years now... I think anxiety runs in my Fam... And I have it and keep it under control with meds... fine by me! But I did decide to switch from Lexapro to Wellbutrin a couple weeks ago. My company completely pays for generics and Lexapro does not have a generic...so I was paying $20 a month which is not alot but when you add it up over the year, it is. SO, I switched. I followed Dr's orders and tapered down the Lexapro and increased the Wellbutrin over 10 days....
Ummm, I did not know I would go through HEROIN WITHDRAWLS.
I mean, seriously!!!
For the past few weeks, I have had this weirdo dizzy sensation that if I turned my head too fast - I felt like I was going to fall out. And my whole body would get this tingly feeling every 10 minutes or so... I kept having to take deep breaths to "center myself."
It's been almost 3 weeks now and I am FINALLY feeling somewhat normal. I am really glad I am getting off something that is THAT potent.
So, in addition to the physical changes, I can tell that my emotions are a bit wacky. Not too bad...but I can cry at the drop of a hat. Whenver I talk about work to someone, I tear up. Whenever I watch TV and people are happy, I cry. Case in point: I was watching the Democratic Convention re-cap on the Today Show the other morning and they were showing Hilary Clinton's speech and the camera panned to Bill and his face was so full of pride....and I cried.
I DON'T EVEN LIKE THE CLINTONS.
4. Stella and I are hitting the road tomorrow morning for a weekend in Banner Elk! We are having a small college reunion of friends, lovingly refered to as the Annual Buzz Fest. Don't ask. I am so excited I could bust. Ashley and I have rented this little house and we are having everyone over for lunch on Saturday...then big dinner out Saturday night... We are coming home on Sunday so I can have Monday to recover and get ready for work on Tuesday... Toby wants to go with us but he has to work. And two nights away from Stella is as much as he can handle - so we're coming home Sunday.
I'm excited to see everyone! To see the kids playing togehter! To tool around Banner Elk - even though it looks nothing like it did when we were in college there. And I'm VERY excited to show Courtney my new planner/daytimer system that she is going to be so jealous over. :)
You think I'm kidding....
Happy Labor Day Weekend everyone! Safe travels... Love to all.

Thirty Two
My 32nd Birthday was a good one!
On Friday night, we had dinner with my grandmothers, my aunt Nancy and her boys, and Mom and Dad... We went to Casa Grande for my FAVORITE: the shrimp quesadilla. Mom got the traditional Ukrops cake - but flipped it upside down by accident so here was my "Happy Birthday Stephanie" - I laughed so hard. I love it! It tasted good and I should know because it's GONE now...

Mom and Dad gave me a BEAUTIFUL silver bracelet that is engraved with "God could not be everywhere so he made Mothers." It's so special and wonderful.
On Saturday, my actual birthday, Toby gave me the best present - he kept Stella while I went grocery shopping by myself. :) Actually, I really don't mind having Stella with me while I shop - she's so fun all the time... I love her company. But man - it was very nice to roam around Wal-Mart by myself. I usually do not go to Wal-Mart with her - we usually do a quick Kroger trip. But since I was alone, I got a giant coffee from Starbucks for my stroll around Wally World. I took my time and didn't feel rushed or guilty. It was lovely!
I bought the 2nd book in the Stephenie Meyers series - because I am about 100 pages from finishing the first and I MUST have the 2nd book on hand for when that happens. There is NO waiting period between - I am so in love with these books.
I arrived home to a napping toddler AND husband. I unloaded the groceries and ate the leftover half of my shrimp quesadilla for lunch while watching a DVRed Intervention. Then, Toby's Dad and his wife, Yvonne, came over to bring me a present - which was a surprising treat!

Then Toby's sister Kim and her daughter Kendall arrived. Kim was going to keep the girls so Toby and I could go out for a movie and dinner. We went to see Tropic Thunder (I was disappointed by it, Toby liked it...) We got a small popcorn to split - which Toby ate 95% of.... and then was too full to eat dinner - so we got a couple gifts from Bed Bath and Beyond and Michaels, and then just came home.
WE ARE PARTY ANIMALS.
My brother and his lady went to the beach for the weekend so they were not here for the Friday Night Family Dinner... They came by today and brought me my gift:

Yep! Be jealous. Be very jealous. :) I could not believe they did that!! I told him I did not want to put my crappy stuff inside such a gorgeous bag!
So, it was a nice birthday! I certainly ATE my way through it... My daughter didn't let me forget my birthday for one second since it has become her favorite song... which is just fine with me!

Big Ol' Update
Ewww. It's been WAY too long. I am sorry for being MIA in several aspects of my life! It's just been crazy....
My work project ended and it's back to the real world as of last Wednesday - and I have not been handling it well. I am rather depressed about it. I'm hanging on by a thread - so I could use some major prayers in that department.
My Thirty-One venture is picking up with my first 2 in-home parties being next week. I am trying to study up and get ready for those... I have been working on my packets and my display board and my presentation.... I want this to work out!!
Toby has been working major overtime on his job that has a hard deadline next week. He's exhausted and frustrated...
Fun times at the Creekmore's!!
We have had some fun events in the past few weeks so I'll share some pictures to give you all an update....
Here are Bapaw and Stella after a relaxing dip in the pool:

Here are some random "I'm two now!" picture of Miss Thing:

Givin Mama some attitude:

Last weekend we had our family friends over for the afternoon. It's too complicated to explain how we know these people so I'll just say we are all lifelong friends! It was a fun time! Stella wore her hand-me-down bathing suit thingee with the floats on the inside. She looked like a body-builder!

The girls! Christy, Elizabeth holding Ava, and Stella

Peyton and Stella - Peyton will be a big brother on Wednesday!

Toby having dinner with Linda and Christy!

Everyone

Yesterday, Mom, Dad, Stella, and I drove to Gloucester, VA to see Mom's cousin Heath and his family... They have built a farm - and I mean THEY (like Heath and Julie with their bare hands) built a barn and have expanded it to include chickens, goats, and my favorite: FRIZZLES. (These furry chickens...) Stella had a BLAST playing with the animals and even getting an egg out of the chicken coup!!

Frizzles!!

Going in the fig tree - she ate her fig in no time flat!

Dying to hold the frizzle

Look Ma! I got an egg!

Back in the fig tree

The goat kisses mama!

Little girl, big barn

And now what you have all been waiting for........
The POISON CONCERT!!
We had a blast. Or atleast I did. I hope I didn't make too much of a fool of myself but I think I screamed more at this concert than the one in 1989! It might have been the four beers I had - GASP!!!! Unheard of these days!
Anyway, the show was SHORT. I felt like it was over after about 4 songs. I'm not just saying this because I will be the first to admit when a band blows live (Hello, Motley Crue) but THEY WERE SO GOOD!!
Toby looks pretty darn happy to be with the girls! (Carrie, Julie, and Me)

Me and Erika

Me and BFF Cece - our 19th anniversary from seeing Poison for the first time...

Big John (Rock of Love, anyone?) introduced the band!!

And here is Mr. Bret looking OH SO FINE!

And you can't forget CC Deville.... the man of a million faces....

Thanks to Carrie for the awesome live shots...my camera sucked. Or maybe it was the drunk girl trying to work it? Hmmmm.....

The Picture Game
I think I got everything...almost. (JJ! Talk about difficult! lol)
Here we go! Try not to be jealous. HA!
Here is my bedroom. It is very very small AND my 1970's (complete with flowers in the mirror) waterbed takes up almost the entire room. And I DON'T CARE. That bed is my best friend. :) We became really close during my pregnancy when I was in it 24/7. (When I wasn't at work or getting sick. Lovely!)

My bedroom is very "flowy." There are 2 windows with beige curtains - and I used the same curtains in place of closet doors. The room was too small for doors. In the first closet are my clothes - and the 2nd closet is my make-up vanity.

And here is my make-up. I used to have bins and bins of make-up - it was a hobby for me! But now I keep it to the necessities only. I LOVE the bagalini bag.

And I have to brag on myself...these are 2 bulletin boards covered with decorative scrapbooking paper. It's a perfect necklace organization system!

Favorite shoes...
For comfort: of course the Uggs. Hi Stella!

For memories: I wore these on wedding rehearsal night. I'm too fat to wear them now. Seriously. They kill me!

And for style: These BCBG's I got at Ross for next to nothing...Too fat to wear these too. But I will wear them again one day!!

Kitchen!! It's teeny but I love it.

Scrapbook Pages!!
I went through Stella's book and picked out the ones that struck me.
This was her "car ride home from the hospital" page. I couldn't figure out what to do for this page so I made a road out of cardstock.

This was the "Watermelon Festival" page. She was 3 weeks old and my DUMB ASS too her out to this crowded and HOT festival in Carytown. These are the pics before we left the house...in her pretty dress that was as big as my hand. I LOVE how she's looking at Toby in that top picture.

We went to visit Denny at his house and it was close to Halloween. He was going to be Stevie Nicks and had this blonde wig. OF COURSE we put it on the Stella and she looked like a real live Cabbage Patch Kid! I made my own cabbage out of cardstock in the top right corner. LOL!

And last one: Stella watching TV. I made the TV in the middle of the page. I like not relying on stickers 100% of the time...

WORK. UGH.
This is my TEMPORARY workspace in the basement of another building. I have been here for 2 months. The project ends Wednesday. I'm actually going to miss my little cave.

Here is my REAL cube home. I was there on Friday so I snapped a few pics.

Notice the MCS poster. :)

Here is my favorite work outfit. It's my best summer "blazer" that I wear when I'm feeling professional. Obviously, I don't wear it a lot.

And Court - here is a pic of me and Toby in 2004. This was right when we got engaged. This is a pic on my desk so I took a pic of it - sorry so blurry. I don't have it electronically....

And here is one from Easter 2008 - we NEVER take pics together. I'm always behind the camera.

And JJ. Way to make things hard! I actually have not taken a pic of "the face" but I do have a pic in mind...I can't find it! I promise to revisit this - either with that old pic when I find it...or I'll take a new one. :) Thanks for always challenging me!
